1. I have friends at Yale and I notice a distinct speech pattern when they talk, which is FAST.

I don't quite understand why. It seems to be because they want to get in all their points before you come up with a response.

I think Rachel is the same. She has had to debate with some pretty heavy hitters what with her experience as a Rhodes Scholar.

It's just one of those Ivy League things...I live in New Haven and hear it a LOT...did you ever hear Stephen Carter speak?
