Ensign and Vitter Broke The Law WHILE.... |
|
........occupying the seat of a UNITED STATES SENATOR....that is enough to have them removed from office....that is all the discussion has to yield.
This doesn't take a lot of discussion if you are using it as a comparison to Weiners situation.

6. er, no. first of all Vitter committed his crime shit while he was a Congress critter |
|
secondly, the statute of limitations came into play regarding his case. He wasn't prosecuted because of that. By the time his criminal activity was revealed, it was 6+ years in the past. Ensign is being investigated and I'll bet you anything that he's prosecuted.

8. He will be prosecuted, but not for having an affair. |

But for paying the husband (of the woman he had the affair with) off and the methods used to accomplish it.
Also, I don't think he resigned immediately after the affair was found out, in fact IIRC he refused too. Only after he was investigated for the nefarious movement and coverup of campaign funds was he forced to resign. Correct me if I'm wrong.
