Should the Government start monitoring U.S. food production? The climate |
|
crisis will ruin lots of crops. Is anyone in govt. making plans as to what needs to be grown where or what corn needs to be taken out of the ethanol loop to feed people, etc.? Is the problem not big enough to worry about yet? Will Americans riot for food?

2. We are a "free" market nation. |

Obama has clearly stated that as Americans we all believe in "free" markets. So, I seriously doubt our federal government will do much of anything besides giving out huge subsidies to very rich farmers.

3. the government monitors of the us food production, |
|
the states monitor their production, and so do the buyers of the grains.
the 2009 corn surplus was sold to china for ethanol. last years corn crop was down (depending on the area)4-15%. no one has a clue about this years crops but from what i see it`s not going to be good.
