Why?

Well, first off, let me just say that I loves me some Tamron Hall

Yum. Tamron...call me.

However, after yet another 15 minute segment on Anthony's wiener, I just got tired of it.

EVERY time you see Luke Russert on these days, he is talking about Anthony's wiener so that now everytime that I see him, I think to myself "Uh Oh, here comes weinerboy and another 1/2 hour on a topic that should've died days ago."

I would like to make it clear that I DON'T support Anthony Weiner's actions. I mean, I love Weiner as much as the next guy...err, in a completely heterosexual way of course. He is a stalwart and vocal proponent for liberal initiatives. However, I don't agree with him cheating on his wife and the way he handled the whole situation, while understandable considering everything that's been...exposed, does not have to be condoned and/or encouraged. Let me make it clear, a little flirtatious online interaction is quite normal these days, I'm not a prude and I doubt that there is significant harm in it but he took it over the edge especially considering that he wasn't married all that long ago.

That said, I think that the Democratic Party's reaction to it is just a complete train wreck. I think that they are trying to relabel themselves as a party of ethics, an easy mantle to steal considering the escapades of multiple Republicans over the past few years, but the way that they are approaching it seems ingenuous and naive at best. All they're doing is providing ammo to a right-wing media that is dying to keep the story running. They don't have to all line up behind "The Weiner" and pledge the support 100% but to go on the active attack against "The Weiner" is just ridiculous and idiotic.

The primary focus of the Democrats at this point should be to kill the story, not to inject new life into it like they have done for the past two days.

5. i just know there's some real news around here somewhere...
oh, yeah, there's war: iraq, afghanistan, libya, and did i read something about US drones attacking in Yemen today?
and oh, yeah, no jobs! but then that's not news because congress is not doing JACKSHIT to change that even though most of them ran on that empty promise.
and let's see, foreclosures. the end of public education.
disasters: flooding here, fires there, hurricane brewing down south, volcano, NOT to mention multiple nuclear meltdowns in Japan.
excuse me. no news.

6. In My View (IMV) - Democratic Party Leaders Are Pathetic
Throwing their liberal voices under the bus - is an established penchant of the leadership, unfortunately. When one adds the fact that the same leadership finds it more comfortable to fold every time the rethugs make their fake noise - is something that I can no longer abide from the democrats.

20. i remember because. finally, in oct, a month before election kerry finally got one of his speeches
on tv.

it had been so frustrating whatching bush on the news all the time. and they never but kerry on, bit to diss him. adn finally, they were going ot present ONE speech. after a whole 20 minute speech, they came back and spent all the time talking about how boring he is, and from out of other side of mouth, how he doesnt tell us what he would do.

20 fuckin minutes he covered war, business, health care adn education. as precise as he could get it. 20 minute for someoen to actually listen to dry subjects, as condensed as possible.

they didnt talk about his plans,

but that he is sooooo boring and dems really dont like him. anybody but bush...

turned it off and havent put on since

i will watch clips on du

8. Thanks for the warning
I was so hoping I could turn on MSNBC for some real news, but if every host is going to open with 15 mins on the wiener before getting to some hard news, I'll pass for a few days. Maybe the fever will subside by next Monday.

9. Rachel and Lawrence O'Donnell have been great on the
Weiner story. But then Rachel knows who is behind it as she was the only person on TV who exposed the Far Right machine fronted by Breitbart during the ACORN debacle, another Dem betrayal of those who supported them.

She did a superb segment last night on Vitter and had on Larry Flynt who abhors hypocrites so much he has spent two million exposing them. Clinton has him to thank for saving his presidency.

Check it out in the video section, Rachel's segment and if I find O'Donnell's I will post it also.

Other than those two, the rest is tabloid repetition and worthy only of being turned off.

17. I totally agree
If they can find anything related to a sex scandal they will try to run a politician out of town. But if it relates to getting this country into an illegal war, approving torture techniqiues, handing this country over to the uberwealthy and corporations - well that just gets a pass. And idiots like Palin and Bachmann always get a pass. I may turn O'Donnell and Maddow on but I have no interest in watching anybody else or any other channels. I like Schultz for a while be he just needs to flat out go away.

21. I've drifted away from the Scabs circus for months
The first couple of years I was hooked on the outrage of the Nazi, the Plaigiarist, the Daddy's Legacy Gurl, and the Internist doing non-stop Jeremiads about what's wrong with this President and how dire the country's situation is. I'd even shake off the doze during the circus's on-air time to send them a What-should-we-be-talking-about e-mail since the e-mail for them was only activated during that time slot, not when the show goes off.

But their corrupt pasts and dreary nagging and ragging has finally worn me down. As much as I can imagine how sick it is for Luke with his tattoo of Daddy-G.E. to be yammering about WEINER, I don't think even *this* can get me riled (several verbs besides "rile" were puns not to stoop to).
