Ted Williams, the Golden-Voiced Homeless Man, Got ANOTHER Job |
|
According to Keith, he is now doing the voiceover work for MSNBC's Lean Forward campaign.
Soon, he's going to have all the voiceover jobs in America! And good for him.

Might even consider watching again, tho inclined not to do so and avoid new House b.s. Watching old 'West Wing' episodes instead.
As Lawrence said last night, 'Let Obama be Obama!'

I'm glad this guy is getting his second chance. I really am.
But the cynic in me really thinks this is a prime example of, If you're going to be homeless, please at least have a skill we can exploit and make videos about so all the people around the country can feel like they are not pathetic shells of human beings because they sat their fat asses next in front of a tv or computer and got choked up while watching a viral video. Because otherwise......you're just a bum.
I just get enraged when people I know spend most of their day to day lives walking over or ignoring or sneering at and just all around not giving a shit about the homeless (or any problem for that matter), but when they see some video and get all choked up about it, still manage to convince themselves that they are compassionate people because getting choked up at a news report requires absolutely zero effort, sacrifice, or introspection on their part.

6. well, we just need a few million more viral videos... |
|
I'm happy for Ted's good fortune as a result of the exposure. And maybe this will have broader effect of opening people's minds just a little bit to the notion that homeless people are PEOPLE.

Again, I'm happy for him. I just think American's short attention spans, and naturally selfish attitudes mean that nothing more will come of this and unless someone has some sort of marketable talent and is homeless, they should just not be counting on any help or sympathy from the American people.
