At least one major labor union is asking its members to show up in Madison on Tuesday to protest Gov. Scott Walker's budget.
In a statement on its website, the Wisconsin Education Association Council has asked its members to come to Madison "to protest a budget that guts public schools, strips workers of their rights and erodes our state’s quality of life."
The union says protests will begin at 11 a.m. at the Capitol Square, with a 5:30 p.m. rally at State St.
Protesters say they are concerned that Republican legislators have called for an "extraordinary session" on Tuesday. Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald (R-Juneau) has acknowledged that the budget bill could be moved quicker in an extraordinary session.

Please be in Madison Tuesday to join the protest if possible!
