The Democratic Party needs to claim the moral high ground.
Want to impress the American People?

Clean up the Democratic Party. Toss anybody who's dirty. Run squeeky clean candidates. Police them.

Then go after the "clean up" issues. Clarence Thomas's unreported income. Wall Street banksters. Citizens United. Illegal, immoral based-on-lies wars.

Then defend the American People. Defend Social Security. Advocate Medicare for All. Advocate more progressive taxes.

I believe these are all morally correct positions, necessary to secure the future of America. I believe these will resonate with the majority of the People.

I believe any failure of the Democrats to pursue these goals implicates them in the Right Wing plans to destroy America.

1. Clean up a political party? Bwa Ha Ha.
Politics is dirty. Always has been. Always will be.

3. You know, I don't think people will care

I have a friend I'll call "Joe". He's a working house painter. He's seen his rates drop to the point he's gone from lower middle class to poor worker due to competition from illegal immigrants willing to work at a subsistence level.

He's mad.

Whoever promises him that they'll get tough on this and get rid of his low-balling competitors, he's going to vote for them. Period.

Wall Street, Patriot Act, Wars, Sex scandals, Tax breaks for millionaires, he wont' care about. He's pulling the lever for the guy who will get him his job and rates back.

For the Democrats to win, they need to start with jobs, immigration, & social security. Nothing else really is going to matter to "Joe" or millions like him.

4. The way to claim the moral high ground
Is for Democrats to fight, as a unified force, against all forms of greed, bigotry and war.

To REALLY fight "for the people, not the powerful".

To stand for what people like Bella Abzug, Cesar Chavez, the Berrigan Brothers and the Lawrence Textile Mill Strikers lived for.

For what people like Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, Harvey Milk, RFK and Chico Mendes died for.

For what people from Cairo to Madrid are standing up for TODAY.

THAT's morality. Not what people do with their...er, weiners.

5. Our definitions of moral don't seem to be much of a match and your priorities while similar
are way out of order.

I do your list in reverse order and have no concern with "squeaky clean" and less with policing.

Give me the correct positions and relentless pursuit of them while showing Big Money their ass.

7. Who cares about them..they can do what they want...
The Dems need to fight for working people and get back to the real base of the party and not deal with the corps. If people saw Dems fighting for them against the banksters, corps and corruption, they would come back to the party. That is what the Democratic party used to be.
