SATIRE: Pres. Obama wades into debate over Justice Clarence Thomas allegations
Edited on Mon Jun-13-11 08:01 PM by Poll_Blind
President Obama unexpectedly waded into the debate over whether embattled Supreme Court Judge Clarence Thomas should resign from office on Monday, telling NBC’s Ann Curry “I would resign” if he was in Justice Thomas' place.

“I think he’s embarrassed himself, he’s acknowledged that, he's brought embarassment to the office and the other Justices,” Obama said in an interview with Curry in North Carolina.. “Ultimately there’s going to be a decision for him and his family to make. I can tell you that if it was me, I would resign.”

When asked about House Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-NY) who is also facing pressure to step down over embarrassing and unsavory photographs he posted to Twitter, President Obama said "While I don't condone or excuse his behavior, Rep. Weiner is just one of 435 House members- not one of nine Justices who compose the highest court in the land. What Rep. Weiner did was highly unethical and let me be the first to chastise him for it. He's going to have to answer to the ethics investigation and face whatever sanction they, and his constituents decide is fitting. However, Justice Thomas egregiously violated Federal Law for at least 4 consecutive years on the bench, involving a sum approaching a million dollars."

Of course the President didn't say any of that about Justice Thomas. Of course he wouldn't, right?

Why "of course", though? Why not?

Why not?

2. There is no chance Pres. Obama would ever call on Justice Thomas to resign.
Ever. And so the mere suggestion, itself, is absurd.

3. I got a text today from a friend that said "Clarence had a stroke. I immediately thought of you"
I have to be honest. A BIG smile crossed my face. I thought it was Clarence Thomas. It wasn't . It was my man, The Big Man. But my reaction to Thomas. Am I alone?

4. Thomas is nuts as it is, Gini Thomas is drunk dialing to bitch at Anita Hill....
Before long one of them will be chasing the other around their front lawn with an authentic Japanese Officer's katana. The real question is exactly how many gin and tonics they are away from snapping.

5. Nah, Poll.
That's not my question. I was actually very happy that I thought Clarence Thomas had a stroke. In fact, I was hoping that he was dead. Am I wrong??

7. I was raised a Catholic.
It's not a common trait that you want somebody dead. For me, it's become republicans. Mainly, Sarah Palin.

8. I'm not sure I wish anyone dead. I just hope their crimes catch up with them before they die.
Even that is a tall request in this country.

If. Only.

Who will STAND and FIGHT for THIS American Majority?
You will know them by their WORKS,
not by their excuses!
