Yard sign I've seen popping up all over western PA
"Gov. Corbett's budget: ALL children left behind"

Just five months after taking office, Governor Corbett's approval rating has fallen to just 39%.

His budget cuts spending on education by more than 1/3... very draconian. And this is with Pennsylvania having at $500 million budget surplus this year.

Corbett has also allowed the Marcellus Shale drilling companies to drill in the state without paying any taxes. One of the few states that is letting its resources be taken without ANY compensation back to the state. None.

In my local school district, they are eliminating band for 8th-grade and younger, eliminating chorus for 8th-grade and under, eliminating Latin at the high school, eliminating middle-school sports, getting rid of Driver's Education, and eliminating the high school drama department.

All because of Corbett's draconian budget during a time of budget surplus in the state!

This is an attack on public education... it has nothing to do with "austerity" and is not driven by any economic situation.

Unemployment in this state is below 8%. Not great, but better than most of the country. Yet our governor is at 39% approval and dropping. And he doesn't get why.

Every Pennsylvanian who voted for this asshole needs to be slapped silly.

4. the ones who really need to be slapped silly,
are the idiot voters with buyer's remorse. After all, some of his voters probably love what he's doing. The annoying voters are the shitheads who voted for him, and now are screaming because he's a republican acting like a republican; well, no kidding, dumbasses.

5. MArcellus Shale is generating a BOATLOAD of money, and PA shoudl use Alaska as a
model (if I understand Alaska's oil & gas deal correctly.)

This is robbing the commons.

Not. Bueno.

7. I'm from PA and have seen many Impeach Corbett signs
posted along highways. Many are not happy with him but if people did their homework before voting.. Oh, never mind!

8. Edu-what?
Not just PA, unfortunately, this has become the national trend and it's more obvious over the past couple of decades. There aren't going to be any realistic jobs for most of these kids, so why "waste" money to school them? Sounds horrible, but there it is. Thirty years ago the whole country would've been on your Governors back before the ink dried on the headlines, today every other state is doing the same thing.

Our Beloved Leaders sat there grinning while the industrialists moved most of the blue collar jobs right out of the country, and US-based firms did so. Those on top don't care because the profits roll in and the dividend check are fat, their kids will go to private academies and Ivy League colleges and get office jobs. The politicians and their social class don't cares what happens to mill towns and mining towns and factory towns, or the people in them.

I understand that change is inevitable, adapt or get left behind. But the working folks in this country got no heads-up, no consideration, we got hung-out to dry by the very companies who began here. Loyalty to the the dollar -- the bucks, the bottom line, the profit margin -- is the only value left in American system. God save America.

I tried to warn people, but he kept his right-wing ideology pretty quiet during the election, and everyone thought that the guy that went after "baddies" as AG was so great.

But come on - TEXAS taxes frakkers, and he doesn't want to? Doesn't even want the companies to have to repair what they ruin? Really? Really
