Cherry Hill dentist convicted of attempting sex with minor
By Sam Wood

Inquirer Staff Writer

A Cherry Hill dentist who called himself "Amorous Stallion" online was convicted Wednesday of trying to arrange a tryst with someone he thought was a 14-year-old Pennsylvania girl, authorities said.
In 2008, Jon J. Lackner began to woo a person he believed was a girl he met in an Internet chat room, said U.S. Attorney Zane David Memeger. The girl actually was an undercover Bensalem police officer, Memeger said.

According to court records, Lackner sent a disposable cellphone and lewd videos of himself, and asked if the girl would perform oral sex. In March 2009, he arranged a meeting at a Bensalem video store for dinner and sex. When he arrived, he was surrounded by police.

Lackner, 47, contended that he was entrapped, but a federal jury decided otherwise. He was convicted of using interstate communications to attempt to induce a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity, traveling with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct with a minor, and attempting to transfer obscene material to a minor. Lackner faces a mandatory minimum term of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $1.25 million when he is sentenced Sept. 29.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

These guys are beyond stupid...for a change, I'm speechless.

On edit: not quite speechless - one of the things you learn real fast in dental school is that you are granted proximity to people, not intimacy. This extends to one's personal life as well...you have to tiptoe as a licensed professional whether it be pharmacy, medicine, law, dentistry, or the like.

3. Traveling with intent...
Whatever is deserved for sexual preying on a minor, but I don't remember ever hearing that as a charge.

4. I think they have computer programs that make up new charges.
It uses lists of nouns, additives, etc. to manufacture sentences. Then they weed out those that don't make enough sense and use the rest.
