"Shared Sacrifice" my bunghole
Edited on Thu Jun-16-11 10:03 AM by salinen
This isn't world war 2, they're trying to program us into some sort of fictitious time of belt tightening for the common good. I despise the term "shared sacrifice" in this era of greed and selfishness that permeates through the culture. There was no mystery attack or unforeseen catastrophe that lead to these austere times. No, it was theft, legalized theft, but mostly illegal theft that is being ignored. Too big to fail allows only the big institutions to gamble mightily with our savings. If they win, they get all of it. If they lose, it's even better for them.

Make no mistake, the plan by conservatives for the past 30 years was to destroy all government to it's basic functions. And to do this, they used the plan that is fool proof; start wars. This is key. This redistributes the wealth of the nation from government to military. The military is an excellent waster of money. It produces the a lousy return on investment. Make an F-16 for 30 mil. Sell it for 10 mil. Wonderful. And who gets the proceeds from that sell. Not you or me. But mostly wars are really expensive.

The other genius way to crash the government is through tax cuts. Give wealth to the already wealthy. They'll in turn buy paper wealth, and "voila" commerce flounders. And don't forget outsourcing. What a perfect way to ruin an economy. No manufacturing, no jobs, no production, no taxes.

So we owe 14 or 15 or 37 trillion. It doesn't matter if that number is 1000 trillion, we are either fucked or FUCKED.

Then there's the term the conservatives throw back our way "redistribution of wealth". This is code for "they want to give our hard earned money to colored people, infrastructure, and unions" Sounds bad but it's actually good. After all, it does create jobs and commerce. All it takes to calm the masses is a decent job, and affordable health care. That's fucking all. But that's exactly what they've taken away, and not in any no fault way, but to purposely disassemble the government and "redistribute" the power away from government and toward Industry and Military.

Eisenhower!!!!

1. I'm stealing this!
Very good word picture.

Clean it up a bit and you can send it in for a Letter to the Editor.

7. Well, that was the plan all along...
"...they're trying to program us into some sort of fictitious time of belt tightening for the common good."

Of course! Us little people "tighten our belts for the common good," while the fatcats suck up the extra cash.

9. You just don't understand what "shared sacrifice" means.
Edited on Thu Jun-16-11 11:15 AM by toddwv
It means that the poor and the middle-class sacrifice and the upper "class" shares our sacrifice amongst themselves.
