"black people are “aborigines,” “illiterate,” and can be enticed to vote with buffets."
says Alabama State Senator Scott Beason.
Wanna guess what party he belongs to?

" A week after single-handedly forcing the layoff of hundreds of county employees in Jefferson County, Senator Scott “Empty the Clip” Beason has provided Alabama with a spectacular demonstration of ignorance and hate.

It recently came to light that in a recorded conversation with several of his Republican colleagues, including Mobile Senator Ben Brooks, Scott Beason found it appropriate to say that black people are “aborigines,” “illiterate,” and can be enticed to vote with buffets.

“Scott Beason’s comments are disgusting and embarrassing and it’s time for him to go,” said Judge Mark Kennedy, Chairman of the Alabama Democratic Party. "I'm tired of Scott Beason taking it upon himself to make a national spectacle out of our state.”

17. Of course not. Disrespect black people and you can keep your job.
Take pictures of your dick and you've got to go.

War crimes? Don't even bother looking for anything to be done there.

6. Beason also sponsored the new Alabama immigration law that is "tougher than Arizona".
His problems with other races may not be limited to Blacks. ;(

7. Who doesn't love a buffet?
Every older person (of any race) I know loves buffets:)

The most illiterate people I have ever seen are two republicans:

GWBush & Fertilla, The Huntress

Every "aboriginal" person I have ever met had an innate sense of the way the world works, and went out of their way to PRESERVE, rather than to destroy, and they were also willing to share what they had.,

13. Figures.
Ignorant cretin doesn't even understand that black people who are here had to be imported once upon a time.

But then what do you expect from a racist fuckwit?

19. Ignorant cretin had that conversation played in a court. In front of black jurors.
check this out:

Beason is under cross examination for a second day in the corruption trial of Milton McGregor and eight others. The state senator from Gardendale, who recorded conversations with legislators, lobbyists and gambling proponents, is the prosecution’s first witness.

On Tuesday, defense lawyer Bobby Segall read to Beason comments he made about black leadership in the Alabama Democratic Party. Talking to other Republicans, Beason said that if blacks took over the Democratic leadership in the Alabama House, it would hurt their party.

On Wednesday morning, Segall had Beason read even more damning comments into the record.
“They’re aborigines, but they’re not Indians,” Beason says when talking to Republican colleagues about the Greenetrack casino in the majority black Greene County.
In the same conversation, Beason and his colleagues called black voters ignorant and illiterate. If a statewide referendum were held on gambling, casinos would bus black voters to the polls and entice them with free food and bingo, Beason and his colleagues said.

Before a half black jury, the comments are potentially damning, especially in the hands of Segall, who taunted Beason for being dumb enough to say such things when he knew he was being recorded.

“If you made those comments when you knew you were recording, what must you have said when you weren’t recording? More of the same?” Segall asked.

22. Well, it's all disgusting except for....
the part about being "aborigines".

Which is merely stupidity on his part.

Aborigines are defined as being the original inhabitants of an area. Capitalized, it describes the native peoples of Australia.

OK, so blacks in Alabama aren't Australian.

But they're not the indigenous people, either. Not if their ancestors were brought here as slaves.

So using the word "aborigines" just makes him look really really REALLY stupid. But it's not, in itself, an insult.

25. 9 in 10 Conservatives sound kkkrazy nowadays.
Thanks for the heads-up, dixiegrrrrl.

I remember when Alabama used to have a good, Democratic governor by the name of Don Siegelman.

Then came KKKarl Rove and his cronies, including Leura Canary, who still works for the US Department of Just-Us.

27. As the article said:
Senator Harri Anne Smith (former R, now I) has called on Beason to resign over the remark.

“He needs to resign,” Smith said. “I mean, I would think the Republican caucus would ask for his resignation.”

Republican Senator Ben Brooks, who was in the room when Beason made the remark, is now condemning it as well. No word on why he didn't call his fellow GOP Senators on the racist language at the time -- when it would have mattered!
