1. The only time I care about any sex scandal involving a politician |
|
is when there is some sort of illegality going on. For example, if Boehner did indeed date a lobbyist, were any laws broken (not that we could prove it)? If so, then he should be fired.
But forcing people to resign over sex scandals, particularly if their constituents want them to stay, is over the top. It's a personal matter between spouses and should stay such.

2. I really hated to see Anthony quit, but the media was just never ending, |
|
and would never have backed off until he was gone. I HOPE they do the same damn thing with Boner! The stories sure are close enough in time so they can keep their interest peaked on SEX!

Anything goes if you are a Republican, but Democrats have to be perfect.

4. Other - I guess I am not getting something because |
|
I think what the Bone did was way more egregious as the ladies involved (ar at least one of them), was a lobbyist.
Doesn't that raise red flags to anyone? How do we know that this didn't influence his legislative decisions? How do we know money (donations) weren't involved (quid pro quo)? Shouldn't this be the worst type of dalliance for a public servant?
The focus always seems to be the adultery and morals, blah, blah, blah, but I think this is much worse, involving ethics, and someone abusing the public trust. If the Enquirer published it, there must be something to it. They have been sued in the past, and I don't think that they would put themselves in that position knowingly. I think an investigation is in order, and perhaps, then the Enquirer could be compelled to reveal the source.
But then again, I am often wrong about a lot of things, just ask all the DU'rs with whom I have disagreed with about AW.

7. I heard this on the Thom Heartmann show today, and Thom made the |
|
comment to one of his guest reporters that you may disagree wth some of the tactics of the Enquirer, but nhey are extremely careful about checking their facts. The reporter agreed. Apparently he either worked for them in the past or has some friends who do now, and both of those guys said there was FACT to Boehner's affairs with at least TWO differnt women...one a lobbyist and the other is a staffer for a trusted associate of Boehner's. If you check the NE webbsite, they list the names of both women.

lawmakers to favor their industry or cause. And that almost always involves money...usually TAXPAYER money.
