America is heading down a deep hole, from which it won't climb out of
The Pattern Is Clear… Our Democracy is failing before our very eyes.

I'm not talking about Weiner, for politicians come and go all the time.

I'm talking about the very fabric of our institutions… The mandate that government must serve all of the people.

It's all being sold away.

The new idea is that wealth dictates the quality of citizenship, not birth right, or any inalienable rights at all.

This is something that affects each and every one of us.

Unless the masses of people stand up and regain their democracy from the forces of oligarchy, we will be a completely failed state in all of our lifetimes.

2. Love your clever snark. I'll take it that you think things are JUST FINE
the way they are. Don't you have a child living in poverty to go kick or something?

3. Oh wait, you mean like oh the Gilded Age?
It helps to have a historical memory. We will get out of it, but it will take a collective hit the streets and not leave them moment. We have been here before.

8. Crowds in the streets will result in massacres
and concentration camps, none of which will ever be commented on by the corporate media. That's why the Repigs have allowed the creation of private armies like Blackwater/Xe and completely coopted the most important media - TV. TPTB don't trust the military to fire on their own (viz, Egypt), but the mercenaries will haul out the flamethrowers and chain guns and use them with great glee and gusto.

Mr. S. is right.

I save a bunch of money on car insurance and people driving nice cars keep their distance.

10. Well the future looks bleak for my life and not so good for
mass humanity for the immediate future.

Not a good sign that the take down of Weiner was more important to Democratic leadership than the reality of contemporary discovered felonies of Justice Clarence Thomas or budget insanity aimed at the weakest citizens proposed by the GOP, indeed, the Democratic Party leaders haven't much better later.

Aside: CA Governor Jerry Brown vetoed a Democratic passed budget because it was infeasible in his view, good for you Governor Moonbeam. Jerry Brown has always been pragmatic and well worth the benefit of the doubt.

Let us see POTUS Obama and Rep Pelosi and AG Holder go after Thomas now (after all, Thomas is every much the perv as Weiner (only Thomas perjured in conformation hearings regarding his sexual harassment of Anita Hill).

Weiner didn't break a law. Bill Clinton was impeached and still thrived (and I was snowed esp. on Telecommunications and repeal of Glass-Steagall).

I thought HRC and McCain the warmongers not POTUS Obama.

I thought POTUS Obama was for transparency and diminished influence from lobbyists and money.

IMHO the investigation and prosecution of Clarence Thomas is a priority for POTUS Obama, Rep Pelosi, and AG Holder (throw in Reid and DWS too) and a litmus test retards to whether they truly represent the good of the USA and the People (not the privileged and globalized few).

After all, we have been repeated informed that the appointment of USSC Justices by a Democratic President is key -- Clarence Thomas is a slam-dunk USSC opening to fill because he is a felon awaiting a Grand Jury and prosecution for blatant crime.

If Potus Obama and Rep. Pelosi do not follow through on rallying the prosecution of Thomas, they are not on the side of the Democratic Party in terms of registered voters nor the People of the USA -- a litmus test.

We did not look back with crimes of Bush, Cheney, et al and accepted financial criminals into government appointments, and were told to stay the course.

Otherwise, we are a plutocratic corporate/military empire with a veneer of Constitutional Democratic Republic.

Clarence Thomas is a litmus test and an opportunity to impede spiraling down the tubes of civil, just, and safe society.
