BTW, hope everyone's happy with Wiener's resignation. Now the Democrats can get busy caving into the GOP on everything else.

Oh Happy Day!!!! :woohoo:

9. Vitter hasn't resigned.
Only Democrats have to resign over things that are actually legal.

Vitter, as a Republican, can remain in office after breaking the law.

14. Kids use this kind of juvenile reasoning all the time--"how can what I did be bad
when the kid down the street did worse". I should be surprised to see adults here use the same reasoning, but I'm not.

Weiner chose his behavior and he clearly understood what the consequences would be if he were found out and then he found it easier to lie about it. Either he somehow wanted to be discovered or he is immensely stupid and arrogant believing he was somehow immune to the consequences of his actions.

Now did somebody put a gun to Weiner's head and force him to resign or did he choose to do it just as he chose to do the things which got him into trouble?

29. I had kids try it on me without breaking a law--they lied, but tried to justify it because
others lie. Nobody put a gun to his head and forced him to resign. His choice just like it was his choice to do the dumbass stuff that got him into trouble in the first place.

Now this kind of thing would not be any trouble in France, but have you noticed? We're not in France.

18. Vitter is a republican pervert supported by elected republicans
Weiner is a Democratic "pervert" that elected Democrats piled onto ... see that is the difference. When the high and mighty in your own party desert you ... that's it.

19. It is Slimy versus Creepy ....
Slimy can stay in office, we expect our politicians to be slimy and untrustworthy.

Creepy has to go - i.e. Foley & Weiner - nothing illegal proven just too far down the creepy spectrum.

21. Weiner is certainly not creepy.
You need to read up on the Foley incident. Involved under-aged pages, and THAT was illegal. There is no comparison. Why would you even make the connection, I wonder.

24. No it wasn't illegal ... or at least
the FBI & FDLE could find nothing with which to charge him. They both float in the same boat...one on the right side and one on the left.

28. The sexting no ..... the proliferation of junk photography...
...you betcha! Maybe not as far down the creepy trail, but certainly far enough to loose sight of reality. Also, far enough down where he can see Foley's creepy self too.
