Listening to my Congressman (David Price, NC) on the phone ,,,
Edited on Thu Jun-16-11 06:16 PM by DURHAM D
I received a message last night that I would get a call this evening at 7:00 pm if I wanted to listen in or ask a question.

Is anyone else getting these calls from their congress critters?

The first question is why don't they raise the Medicare contribution % on employers and employees.

1. My Congressman (republicans) don't like my attitude (go figure!)
So needless to say I'm never invited to do anything.

Glad you are though.

2. The questions have been great -
Two on medicare under attack, two on current tax code, one on spending SS funds and why no lock box and accusations of stealing and misappropriations on pork and wars, and current question is about taxes and the government's political accountants that are putting out false info for the house Repubs.

4. Current caller is on Medicare and recently was kept
in the hospital after surgery for 6 days. She expected a one day stay. She was drugged and unable to press her case. She is claiming medicare fraud and abuse by doctors and hospital and is asking how to help the government get the money back.

5. Yes.
I've received phone invitations to town-hall phone meetings from both Melissa Bean (my former Rep.) and Joe "Life's been good to me so far" Walsh (my current Rep.).

9. Yes - this is a good forum
The best part - the teabaggers are not invited and can't take over.

She is calling HRC Obamacare and challenging David that the Ryan plan will save money.

In short, she is an idiot and a ringer.

David handled it well.

11. Damn - the call dropped.
I think they were trying to get to me to find out my name and my question but lost me instead.

There were only 8 minutes left and I don't have a way to get it back.

If you all get a chance to participate in one of these sessions I recommend it.

12. Tuning in via you -- no longer live in NC (and even then I lived in Clayton).
Keep posting!

13. They accidentally cut me off.
I have always found David (and his staff) to be very available. I am invited to forums all of the time but I don't want to get dressed up and play cocktails. For that reason I really liked this forum. The down side - premature rejection.

14. Our congress rep has telephone town halls a few times a year
It's in addition to his government at the grocery type town halls and other public meetings.

I've come to like the phone ones since I can't always get to the regular ones.
