I'm glad Anthony Weiner has resigned. Despite a limp attempt to explain his actions, Wiener stiffened his resolve and did the right thing. Now he can stand fully erect and face himself in the mirror when he shaves in the morning. The longer he waited, the harder it would have become to successfully pull something like this off, so I'm glad he came to his senses and we've reached the climax of this distraction.

4. Yep, he did the respectable thing. |
|
I know a lot of DU'ers were bitching and moaning for him "not having a spine" and criticizing Democratic leadership for pressuring him out, but the simple fact was: he'd become a distraction, and it was all his own damn doing.
He didn't have to send UNSOLICITED sexts to women half his age.
He didn't have to make up the stupid hacker story which only captivated the media.
He didn't have to keep half-assedly denying the pictures were really of him, causing others to come forward with more damning exchanges, and the media circling like vultures.
He dragged it out far too long and distracted us all from the real issues on facing Congress right now, namely confronting the Republican plan to kill Medicare.
But in the end, he finally realized he had gone too far. And I have to respect him for doing the right thing for the good of the Party, and depriving the media of any more sensationalism over the whole sordid affair.

6. Exactly. Lay this entire fiasco at the feet where whom it belongs--Anthony Weiner. |
|
Ultimately it was all the result of his stupidity, arrogance, poor choices, and deliberate lying to escape consequences.

7. Yeah It isn't whether what he did was right or wrong |
|
it is that he did it. There are so many decisions that need to be made on a day to day basis that affect so many lives. That he decided to do this, puts his judgement into question. I don't care about sex life. I care about his discretion. He knows the Republican led press is a wolf pack salivating for fresh meat. He could have chosen not to give them any. He chose otherwise.
