Gov. Christie to delay implementing N.J.'s medical marijuana law

Chris Christie, serial liar, promised to support the Compassionate Use Act while campaigning and, as with so many of his lies disguised as promises, has done just the opposite once in office. Christie said anything to get elected and has done just the opposite on all issues pertaining to anything and anyone other than his wealthy friends and their tax breaks.

The headline is actually pretty funny from one standpoint: Christie has delayed implementing the Compassionate Use Act for 18 MONTHS ALREADY! And the vast majority of New Jerseyans SUPPORT the Compassionate Use Act. I'd like Christie, who it is rumored smoked pot himself at Livingston High in the 80's, to explain to me how his failure to implement THE LAW has anything to do with representative government or administering the duties of his office he SWORE to uphold.

Nice job electing this corrupt goon, New Jersey. Our services have been eviscerated while our taxes have skyrocketed and Christie the emperor can't even step off the teabagger reservation long enough to implement already written law to help relieve suffering of his seriously ill constituents.

Chris Christie was the former U.S. Attorney for New Jersey and he knows goddam well this is bullshit. While U.S. Attorney for New Jersey how many marijuana cases did Christie file? ZERO. NADA. ZILCH.

This man is a sickening demagogue. A true pig in every sense of the word. A self-centered, egotistical, incompetent, ignorant, totally corrupt, mean-spirited, tyrannical liar not fit to hold any public office. And every day he remains in office if further proof of those facts.

Gov. Christie to delay implementing N.J.'s medical marijuana law

TRENTON — Gov. Chris Christie last night said he won’t allow medical marijuana for chronically ill patients until the federal government assures him they won’t prosecute anyone for working in the program. It is a new stipulation by the governor, who has been accused of intentionally trying to delay the law.

"The federal government is saying medical marijuana is against the law," Christie said in an appearance on the "On the Line" call-in show, which was televised tonight on New Jersey Network and streamed live on NJ.com. "Until I get that assurance, I cannot ask people to do things that they might get prosecuted by federal prosecutors."

"I thought the program was moving forward. It was the whole reason we compromised," Gusciora said, referring to an agreement he struck with the administration that would curb some of the components of the law that Christie said were too permissive.

"It’s disappointing — he should go ahead. It’s more of his national ambitions getting the better of him,’’ Gusciora said.

Gusciora said he intended to introduce legislation next week that would decriminalize the simple possession of marijuana, similar to laws enacted in Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts.

I hope Assemblyman Gusciora has learned his lesson on compromising with Christie. And I hope Assemblyman Gusciora's decriminalization measure passes quickly.

It must be really lucrative for them to act in this way - that's the only reason I can find that makes sense to impede the democratic process in these instances.

Profit and loss to society of millions of productive lives interrupted and stigmatized by conviction and incarceration.

This is insanity and it must stop. The drug companies, medical establishment and law enforcement already control distribution of any number of prescription drugs far more dangerous than marijuana.

This is a matter between doctor and patient. Corrupt authoritarian hypocrites have no place in the equation.
