In about 1-2 years unplanned pregancies and women-only cancers will skyrocket in Indiana
You think it's expensive paying for women's healthcare via Planned Parenthood, try paying for the increase in unplanned pregnancies along with the increase in Ovarian, Cervicial, Uterine and Breast Cancer.

Planned Parenthood Indiana to stop seeing Medicaid patients

INDIANAPOLIS (Reuters) - Planned Parenthood of Indiana will stop seeing Medicaid patients after Monday because of an Indiana law that cut the provider's funding. PPIN went to court last month to prevent Indiana from cutting funding to the state's largest reproductive health care provider. U. S. District Judge Tanya Walton Pratt said she would make a decision on whether to enjoin the law by July 1.

"Our 9,300 Medicaid patients, including those who had appointments Tuesday, are going to see their care disrupted," Betty Cockrum, president and CEO of PPIN, said in a statement.

The Medicaid funds stopped May 11, the day Republican Governor Mitch Daniels signed a law that restricts abortions and cuts federal funding to Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood performs abortions, but even before the Indiana law passed, federal money could not be used to pay for abortions. Indiana cut Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood that covers other reproductive health services, including contraception and cancer screening.

2. The War on Women (WOW) continues
with trying to kill us off more quickly by not allowing care. Someday they will have to take responsibility for their evil actions.

3. The problem is this - while they are alive someone will have to pay their healthcare
If someone was pre-screened for many of the women-only cancers - if deteted early enough they are easily treatable. Without places like Planned Parenthood many of these women will wait until it's too late and end up in the emergency room running up massive bills that have to be paid by someone - which is usually us taxpayers.

Pre-emptive care is always less expensive!

5. Or, moe commonly, they aren't admitted
without insurance. Like the homeless man who got to see his dog again before he died of cancer, he was in hospice care.

4. What..wait...don't my donations to PP let women with no money get care?!
It looks like the more people give the less $ the state wants to put into the systems. This is a huge problem. Look at the bright side...at least we still have a great abstinence program.

7. If a woman has Medicaid she can go to the doctor for the cancer
screening - in fact she is encouraged to get yearly physicals. What she cannot get is an abortion because federal money has never paid for abortions. So you are half right.

8. So it makes no sense to deny women on Medicaid access to PP;
What they will get is educational material on preventing pregnancy and VD....That is what is not allowed here. I would like a helping of abstinence training with that please doctor!
