What Mother Nature thinks of us (toon)
I've never thought of the Gaia Hypothesis as anything more than metaphor but I have used a similar argument with the more clueless - if you can't get behind saving the Earth for Earth's sake, how about saving it for our sake?

4. True, but unfortunately...
...they're taking so many irreplaceable others down into extinction with them. If it was just humans dooming themselves, I wouldn't mind so much.

Some species will survive, though, and evolve anew, and re-populate.

5. Humans used to be adaptable
Until we started attempting to control everything. Now we just try and mold the planet to what we want it to be, instead of adapting to it.
