After seeing Reggie Brown on Bill Maher's Real Time I began to wonder... |
|
What was the booking process behind hiring him for the Republican Leadership Conference?
He "finished" the monologue he began at the conference from where he was cut off, and it was hilarious. He poked some self depreciating humor, but thoroughly skewered all the potential republican candidates. He pointed out that Michelle Bachmann has 23 foster children. He continued that she's either a saint, or she has an iPod factory in her garage.
I imagine the originally written monologue may not have been as eviscerating as tonight's version, but how could the organizers not have seen it coming? At some point, a booking associate with the conference passed on the info that they found a comedian. The comedian was black and did a killer Obama impersonation. The decision maker on the other end of the phone must have said "That's great! I'll bet he'll really tear up the democrats and bash the shit out of Obama!"
I find it odd that the big shot at the conference didn't hang up the line and think: "What did I just say?"

It appears the Republicans didn't know you were available. You certainly wouldn't have had your microphone cut that night with material like that.
I'm sorry I offended you.
