Now gays and lesbians in New York can have all the benefits of marriage... |
|
Same as straights do.
(BTW, two of my relatives went through nasty divorces...)
Spousal abuse
Philandering
Money squabbles
Divorce
Child custody battles
;-)
But...
Well, at least gays and lesbians can now commit to the person they love, and the CCC (Caveman Christian Coalition) can go screw themselves. If they can even do that without messing up.

2. Knowing the news media... |

I give it...2 months, until the *BIG* *STORY* is a nasty divorce between two gays, that will be hyped all out of proportion. :eyes:

Or were gays somehow immune to the pains and pleasures of "normal" people till today?
I can't figure out why you posted this at all. Wait... no, I can't. Were the concerns and situations you brought up somehow beyond the reach of other people not just like you? NO.
Did you ever stop to think that you are no different from us, except that you were granted "special rights" we have been denied for years, and that you probably were never targeted for getting beaten up, whether on a personal level or a political one?
Not trying to be overly harsh, but to me it seems you never allowed yourself to see us as people just like you. Today, like every day, is a good day to learn.
peace.

4. That's really kind of a shitty thing to say. |
|
Denigrating that sort of victory, that's sort of suspicious.

5. People who aren't legally married deal with all of that shit too. |

Well, except divorce, but dividing up your household goods and dealing with shared expenses isn't exactly a picnic even if you do keep it out of the courts.
Really, what's the point of starting this thread right now?

6. Not one of those are benefits. Some people have no clue about celebration. |
