John Kasich Plans to Give His Staff Raises While the Rest of Ohio Suffers

COLUMBUS -- Some staffers working in Gov.-elect John Kasich's office apparently will earn more than their counterparts in the current administration.

But Kasich said Thursday overall salaries in the governor's office under his watch will be lower than those of outgoing Gov. Ted Strickland.

"We're going to release all of these numbers, I think, on Monday," Kasich told reporters in Columbus on Thursday. "... My understanding is our total spending will be under the current administration. And that's my understanding on this -- that's what we've tried to achieve."
