You would think they could at least fake it for our sakes, guess they don't care enough to even do that. :-(

Bet they didn't even have a meeting. Just made a show of walking through the office and out the back door to the bbq.

10. The country is going through a divorce... |
|
...and there apparently isn't much to say anymore. It would appear there are irreconcilable differences. When the differences are irreconcilable, there just isn't a whole lot to be said that will change anything. The two parties in the relationship have had enough of each other - it's a destructive relationship at this point. Though no one has filed papers yet, they are already writing names inside book covers, giving jewelry to friends, and deciding how best to break it to the children. They'll raise the limit, but it won't save the country. The debt limit (a routine issue by anyone's measure) is just a symptom of a sick relationship on it's down tick.

mostly it seems what they do. Most of us know it will come down to a Midnight Deadline sometime in middle of August...after a possible few days of Govt. Shut Down..with all the Pundits in a Kerfluffle and then the Bargain will be Announced with great FAN FARE...and SS/Medicare and Medicade will be declared "Secured for Our Future" and we will have weeks of "introspection across the MSM."
In the end...it will be considered a WIN...but it will be another loss.
It's just the way it goes.

13. A really interesting twist... |
|
...will be if, when all is said and done in August, we find that nothing changed at all. What about the business as usual alternative ending? We get corporate jet depreciation spaced over 5 years instead of 7, and they get like a 0.023% cut in "discretionary" spending on something equally symbolic but relatively low impact, all spaced over 10 years. $6 billion total, divided by 10.
