Wisconsin: Where Walkers "Democrats" lose

Yesterday, Gov. Scott Walker's (R-WI) "Democrats" all lost. Wisconsin Republicans ran a bunch of their own as "Democrats" in Democratic primaries, thinking they'd be able to pick off a real Democrat before the recall elections. That's hardly their only trick: in February, Gov. Walker told the ABC News that Wisconsin was broke, and union-busting was financially necessary. Then in July he spent $500,000 taxpayer dollars hoping to save his friends' jobs by funding sham elections.

We are not so easily fooled.

But his cynical gamble underlines why it's so important for ordinary Americans to own their political future. Without your voice, there would've been nobody to speak out in defense of the folks who educate Wisconsin's children, who pick up Wisconsin's trash, and who care for Wisconsin's sick.
