When it's all said and done, NOTHING will happen TO THE MURDOCHS BY LAW ENFORCEMENT |
|
Edited on Tue Jul-19-11 10:05 AM by DainBramaged
I am positive Rupert will have passed, his children will blame him for everything, and business as usual will continue.
And we will all be the worse for it.
These lying whores should be paying for their crimes, and I am POSITIVE the crimes are there.
So easy for people to snipe here because their agendas are interrupted.

1. Lying (in the news) needs to be made a crime. |
|
Those of you who wish to snark about the first amendment are responsible for this mess.

8. How is that? The First Amendment does not exist in the UK. |
|
So how does your 'thinking' play out? They have no Constitution, no amendments. Our snark or our laws have no bearing in the UK.

But DU snark has bearing here.
I've mentioned many times how important it is to penalize lying and have been deluged with those happy to see the world misinformed and subsequently imperiled, imprisoned, stripped of all rights as long as they can point to the 1st Amendment*.
Whether that applies here -- it doesn't, legally speaking -- has nothing to do with my point about the need to prevent lying.
*Free speech is a very good thing which we need to protect. We also have rightly decided that it can't be used to cause mayhem. And yet, it is used just that way, all the time, by the class that has declared war on us.

So SOMETHING has already happened to News Corp.

5. I never agree with Sid, ask Sid... |
|
but you said NOTHING will happen to them. Sid did not say the 'have suffered'. He said something happened, and he listed just one of many things that has in fact happened to Newscorp in the recent weeks, including billions lost in stock prices, dozens of arrests, the first compelled testimony to Parliament in my lifetime, I think...that is not 'NOTHING'. It simply is not NOTHING. Playing silly word games to make a point that otherwise has no basis in reality. It is too late for NOTHING. And no one said they 'have suffered'. Words mean things. You are not correct. Sid is correct.

There are those who wont be satisfied until the murdochs are drawn and quartered on live tv - THAT will never happen. But to claim nothing has happened is absurd.

18. You don't think they have caused great harm to our political system? |
|
Are you asserting they are innocent, that this is caused by underlings who operated as rouge agents without their knowledge? That they should escape punishment for the crimes, alleged and future, because they are who they are?
No I won't be satisfied until they are drawn and quartered. What News Corp did to president Clinton, Vice President Gore, and Senator Kerry warrants the strictest punishment possible.
Sorry you and so many others here disagree.

|
A loss of more than 6% share prices in less than one business week is rather a wee bit more than nothing. I'd hazard the share prices will soon enter free fall and only stabilize after hitting 25% of original value, a restructuring will be ordered by the board, litigation costs will increase the longer the investigations and cases continue, assets will be sold or dropped, etc.

maybe it is possible some of them will see some real consequences. I doubt it, but I'm still shocked this story became, well, a story.
