The justice minister has just confirmed the suspect arrested today was Norwegian
Edited on Fri Jul-22-11 03:52 PM by The Straight Story
The justice minister has just confirmed the suspect arrested today at the youth camp in Utoeya was Norwegian.

143: "You will not destroy us. You will not destroy our democracy or our ideals for a better world," Prime Minister Stolenberg adds.

2142: "No one will bomb us to silence. No one wil shoot us to silence. No one will ever scare us away from beign Norway," Mr Stoltenberg says.

2139: Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg is speaking at a press conference in Oslo. "We will find the guilty and hold them responsible," he says.

2134: A witness in Oslo tells the BBC that the explosions rattled the government offices with such force that it seemed as if the buildings would completely collapse.

2129: Canada's Prime Minister Stephen Harper has said he was "shocked and intensely saddened to learn of the attacks in Oslo and Uoeya".

*** Update also from earlier: 2124: A terrorism expert tells the BBC that Ansar al-Jihad al-Alami, or the Helpers of the Global Jihad, a terror group that claimed responsibility for the explosion in Oslo, was not behind the attack.

9. All the so called progressive parties on this planet better stop
pussyfooting about their philosophies and pandering to the right wing 'terror, terror, terror' monsters that permeate the right wingers on this planet.

This is what feat leads to - everywhere.

I'm taking bets that this RW lunatic was trying to kill the Prime Minister.
Note - explosives were also found on the island - and the PM was supposed to speak there tomorrow.

3. I know that there are some neo-Nazi types
in Norway and Sweden - one of them was a very talented metal musician jailed in the 90s for murdering a rival Wotanist/Nazi musician. Perhaps this dipshit is affiliated with such a group? In any case, he will be getting a nice lifelong tour of the Norwegian prison system.

8. That would be Varg Vikernes/Burzum.
he has both confirmed and denied involvement in these groups over the years. He claims not to be a neo-nazi, but a Pagan nationalist (lol). Murder, church burnings...and all around swell guy.

And I could be wrong, but I think the longest sentence allowed under Norwegian law is 21 years in jail.

6. Small bit of black humor here, but PM Stoltenberg is doing it all wrong -
he's supposed to be in the air, hiding out and flying to more and more remote military bases for at least another 12 hours.........
