So on Oslo and the Media... |
|
Yesterday we had a perfect example of how to create a story line and what happens when it does not work.
When I woke up there was an attack at Oslo, a mass casualty incident... and every expert the media could get screamed "this has the markers of an Al Qaida attack." So far so good.
So the day moves on, as they inevitably do and what comes though the wire.... it was not a Muslim group... it was, surprise surprise, a RW loon... Norway's OKC event.
So CNN, the standard for news... and the place for news when it breaks... literally went from Norway, Al Qaida, and all that, to five minutes of covering heat wave and telling us why we need to feed our animals. The Oslo story, a story that could be argued is of world wide importance... disappeared. Now we all know that if this was Jihad... they'd remain on that story...
To anybody who's read 1984 the conversation from the war with East Asia to the other one was that fast. Think about it. We now have, for all intents and purposes, a ministry of truth.

3. The media failed hard on this one and owes us an apology. |
|
Even late last night CNN and Fox were still humoring the possibility that this was the work of "jihadists", when it was already clear to everyone paying close enough attention online that this was infact domestic terrorism.

They gave it due diligence as long as they thought it was a Muslim. Once it turned out to not be, suddenly due diligence was dead silence.

16. If it were Al Qaeda we'd still be having live coverage 24/7 |

What's amazing is how effectively the Ministry of truth was able to find 'experts' with identical talking points across the globe and of course in every single Murdoch owned media.
