Maybe I am wrong about Boehner but.......
I am pretty sure he is not shedding tears tonight about the victims, but is much more worried about this impacting his party.
He does not hit me as the compassionate type.

3. No, tonight he's worried about his personal safety.
A mere congressman is nothing compared to the Speaker.

5. I do not see anyone on our side doing something like that. Maybe some nut but......
I would bet that it is 1000% less possible.

8. But what if he doesn't obey the Tea Party?
What if he makes them mad?

4. I think they captured him perfectly on SNL's Weekend Update last night
They had characters playing Boehner and Pelosi and the Pelosi character was demonstrating to the anchor how easily some things made Boehner cry:

"Fourth of July, American flags waving" - wails from Boehner
"Puppies & kittens playing" - more tears
"Millions of Americans with no health care" - no reaction

7. I view Mr. Boner as silly and shallow. The person I am already sickened by is.....
Eric Cantor. His whiny nasal voice and slimy attitude just disgusts me. And he is also smart, wily, and manipuative.

14. Eric Cantor has a Jewish name.
Eric Cantor is worrying that Jews in Congress are being targeted. Eric Cantor is also worried about what will happen if he offends the Tea Party.

Boehner and Cantor may be sleazy, heartless sons of slime, but they know how to feel their own pain and their own fear.

That's a lethal tiger they have by the tail.

9. He doesn't cry for someone else's misfortunes
Like most conservatives, he doesn't give a damn, unless it affect him personally.

But he has his duties to maintain the illusion of compassion.

It's in the handbook he got when he became a leader.

11. I suspect you are correct. In fact, I am sure he is more concerned about
being able to keep up the pressure while deflecting responsibility.

15.  The Teabaggers--If they feel used and betrayed by the Mainline GOP, may turn some of their
white-hot vitriol towards the GOP leadership instead. Especially if
Boehner and McConnel don't cut, cut, cut, cut to the bone, to the TeaBaggers
satisfaction.
It could get really interesting a little later this year.
Get some popcorn!!
