List of the 2.7 Trillion in Itemized Cuts in the Reid Plan. |
|
I just spoke to the Senators office.
They told me he did not have an itemized list, it was just a "Ballpark Figure" at this point.
Tell me again why "Kabuki Theater" is not the appropriate term for this nonsense.

7. I have no idea what you are laughing at ..... care to explain?? |
|
I have no idea if SS and M&M will be cut so I was not even thinking of them I was talking about help for the needy, the poor, the safety nets for the people that are struggling Where do you think these cuts are going to come from?? They will cut regulators, the people that help to keep people safe. They will cut social services at the same time these services are being cut by the states.
I am so glad you think it is funny to throw people under the bus.

something like, 'that post has only 40 recs so far.' So where did all the people worried about BO cutting SS go?
My response: You do realize that you just answered your own question?

5. He doesn't need a list, because he has a DC calculator. |
|
The $60 billion in cuts agreed to in the last continuing resolution, actually ended up being around fifty bucks. So, if take out your trusty DC calculator and key in $2.7 trillion in cuts, the answer will likely be closer to $2.7 million.

6. A very rough estimate - could be more, could be less - either way, lookout. |
|
The theory of the figurative use of ballpark originating in 1960 has to do with an actual satellite recovery area in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii called the "ballpark."

12. Wouldn't Boehner just enact into law any specific cuts Democrats "already agreed to", |
|
even if Democrats demanded loophole clusure revenues to accompany their specific cuts?
That's the political strategy Pat Buchanan and Charles Krauthammer always suggest to their Republican allies in Congress. Specificity in spending cuts is a Republican trap for Democrats.
Republicans can't be trusted with a list of specific cuts unless they've first agreed to a list of specific loophole clusures.
And IMO the $800 billion in revenues to which they allegedly agreed sounds a lot like tiaking credit for any recovery in tax collections that automatically flow from rhe inevitable eventual upturn in the business cycle!
