On the impasse and CALIFORNIA... (and the Feds)
Those of you who live in Cali know this. The State has mostly not met it's deadline for the budget for the last... what ten years? Or is it longer? Why is that? I mean not like the Rs have controlled the legislature in any shape or form... but they got a little maneuver in where it takes 2\3 of the legislature to raise taxes. (Pay attention this is what they want to do with the balanced budget)... SO FINALLY we had it. In a state citizen driven initiative we said ENOUGH... you frakers don't pass it you don't get paid. Oh and that 2\3 is gone.

So magic... this year it was passed... ON TIME and the Republicans did not vote for it.

Why am I bothering with this pretty much inside baseball? They say Cali leads... the nation. And it took a little action by the citizens.

Oh and what happened when it finally got passed on time? Our rating went slightly up... from junk to whatever.

So if you want to feel some hope, there is this. Personally... I believe nothing out of DC anymore and hope and change are empty words. (And yes one side is far more guilty than the other but it should have dawned by a while ago that you cannot negotiate with terrorists, and in my most cynic of moments I think the WH believes what Heritage is selling...)

Oh and we are pretty much fucked... I don't think, hope to eat a nice slice of crow pie, that this will be solved. Too many egos and too many ideological idiots who care more about ideology than the country.
