Obama can talk the talk, but he can't walk the walk |
|
My take on him. I wish we had BILL CLINTON right now. Only two things I hold against Bill, are DOMA and NAFTA, NOT Monica.

1. I hold the DLC against him, too -- the move toward the right. |

I don't care about Monica, either.
ETA: Clinton had an opportunity to try to get binLaden (I read somewhere) but was advised against it because of the Monica brouhaha, so he did the wrong things for the wrong reasons, too.
I think they all do.

that have done a lot of harm. No President is perfect and they will be judged by history, not by us.

13. Yes . . . but a few generations down the road |
|
(assuming anyone is still capable of reading, writing, exercising critical thought - something I have doubts about on occasion (usually right after I finish grading essays)) the people writing the history will still be historians. ;)

cut entitlements and what about the welfare to work program? Clinton gave up on health care reform and Obama did not. Even though we did not get a public option we got a hell alot of good out the legislation....I can personally attest to that. I think I would be dead today if not for that legislation. I also remember how close Clinton was with the big corporations and mortgage companies...he let the mortgage companies run wild with irresponsible prgrams that put people in homes that could not afford it.
The media is different today than it was when Clinton was president and we did not really have the internet...so Obama gets bashed daily, not the case with clinton who was not as progressive as Obama (www.whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com).

10. Even Republicans gleefully assert that Clinton was the "greatest Republican president" |

ever! But DU's contempt for Obama makes them forget about all the horrible policies that Clinton spearheaded that have led to where we are right now!

I can remember DUers going off on Clinton (before there was a president Obama) for his NON progressive policies and his closeness with big business but now that we have Obama, who is the most progressive president we have had in 60 years (www.whatthefuckhasobamadonesofar.com), they go off on Obama, as if he was worse than Obama....hahaha. Many of the financial problems we have today are partly due to clinton and his policies. Obama is trying to fix everything and people here bash Obama because they don't feel change happens in baby steps 9like it did in FDR's days).

7. Isn't that interesting NAFTA is one of the major reasons why we're in this mess |
|
in the first place, along with several other Clinton policies: deregulation of the media and Glass-Steagall.
The primaries are OVER!!!

That make's what Obama doing now more feasible. Obama is the heir of Clinton's handiwork.
