Mitt Romney dangles his short list for VP: Bob McDonnell, Chris Christie and Marco Rubio.
Edited on Wed Jul-27-11 10:00 PM by seafan
July 26, 2011

Romney said that (Bob) McDonnell has been an “incredible governor” and will be on “any candidate’s short-list” for Vice President. Now, considering that the candidate was in Virginia Beach – effectively McDonnell’s hometurf, that statement should be taken with a grain of sand. But he reiterated that the short list is “McDonnell, Governor Christie of New Jersey and Marco Rubio of Florida.”

Meanwhile, Rubio wrote in the WSJ on March 30, 2011:

Why I Won't Vote to Raise the Debt Limit

And Rubio happily voted to end Medicare as it exists now a couple of months later.

May 25: Add Marco Rubio (R-FL) to the list of those who voted to end Medicare as we know it., May 25, 2011

How am I doin', Daddy?

Yeah, Rubio sounds like a G O O D choice, Mr. Romney.

Pathetic.

16. No they wouldn't. Not the fundies. Mormonism is a heresy
worse than atheism. It is a huge, huge deal.

25. You don't know fundies
While a few of them have gotten over their hate for Catholics, it's mainly because Catholics don't send people door-to-door to poach their flocks. Mormons do, and the fundies really rather would see four more years of Obama than to give the LDS missionaries one more talking point.

3. I think he should choose Sarah "You Betcha" Palin
She would fit perfectly with his delusional world view in which he believes he can be President of the United States.

5. I'm surprised Droopy Dawg, Goofy, or Betty Boop didn't make his short list.
Romney is just a cartoon figure himself.
I hope he gets the nomination.
He'll be blown away in a tsunami.

11. Romney might want to thoroughly vet Rubio first, before boasting about his VP short list.
It might be wise to start with Rubio's very close ties to buddy Rep. David Rivera, (R-Miami) who is currently under federal investigation of a casino contract.

Mitt's gonna embarrass himself. I can just see it coming.

17. Romney's short-list is great because ....
with that list he will not get one single vote from the Palin-Bachmann-Cain followers :)

Palin's fans have already said that the only folks they will vote for are Palin or Bachmann or Cain - and tons of them have said that they will do a 'write-in' if their folks aren't the nominee.

So, Romney can kiss all of the Palin, Bachmann, and Cain BOTS goodbye :)

p.s. Just my observation from perusing the Palin pages over the past few months.

29. Romney/Rubio
Romney better watch his back if that were to happen. Let the Mormon become President, but have a "true" christian who ties in with the Bush's for VP. I give old Mittens one year before the "unthinkable" happens.
