Limbaugh blasts Boehner bill, Reid says Senate will defeat it tonight
Rush Limbaugh, rallying opposition to John Boehner's plan to raise the debt limit:

If the Democrats get their way, the Republicans will pass the Boehner bill. It will go to the Senate, where it will immediately be announced dead on arrival. And then, dingy Harry will announce, "But, there's enough here. We can work with this. We didn't really realize all that was in this. There's stuff in here -- yeah, yeah. ... Maybe I can get some Democratic votes on it after all."
And then miraculously -- miraculously -- the prince of compromise, Harry Reid, steals the day, by compromising with just an outrageous dead on arrival bill. He gets all kinds of credit for hard work, rolling up sleeves and that magic compromise, and sends that back to the house. Okay Republicans, ball's back in your court. Here's your bill with a few modifications.

Earlier, ABC reported that Joe Biden and Mitch McConnell were in talks to broker a compromise between the Reid and Boehner plans if the Boehner plan passes.

1. That is unbelievable.
A compromise on the Boehner Bill with Mitch. Oh just great. Is't the Reid bill compromise enough?

2. The only compromise the Republicans are making
is to agree to raise the debt ceiling at all and avoid economic collapse. That's not a compromise; it should be the starting position on both sides prior to negotiation. I heard another Republican this morning stating that his side has compromised by agreeing to raise the debt ceiling. That should be treated by journalists interviewing these hacks on TV as treason of the highest order. Incredible!

3. I don't understand.
The dictionary say a Compromise is a settlement of differences by mutual concessions; an agreement reached by adjustment of conflicting or opposing claims, principles, etc., by reciprocal modification of demands. And, concession is the act of conceding or yielding.
We need to buy a dictionary for each Republican member of congress. They obviously don't understand the meaning of compromise, and unfortunately the Democrats understands it all too well.
Although this isn't a done deal a few week ago several DUer's said exactly something like this would happen. Basically, Republican give up an inch and Democrats give up a mile, we call it meeting in the middle and all is well with the rich and once again the poor are walked upon.
