Will Tom Delay Spend A Single Night In Jail?
http://www.mail.com/news/us/119312-sentencing-hearing-to-tom-delay-trial.html#.23140-stage-teaser-6">Sentencing hearing to begin in Tom DeLay trial

While he faces up to life in prison on the money laundering charge and up to 20 years on the conspiracy charge, DeLay is also eligible for probation.

Get this, Delay has brought in dozens of politicians as character witnesses. He's also "picked" the judge who will sentence him.

DeLay has chosen Senior Judge Pat Priest to sentence him.

Add that to the fact that Texas is your basic "red" state and my bet is that life sentence will become "probation" tout de suite. Just another fine example of the republican's double standard when it comes to the "rule of Law."

BTW: Dan Rostenkowski, a democrat, served a 17 month prison term for his crimes as a politician. On the other hand, I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, who committed treason, had his sentence commuted by Bush Jr. It's great to be a republican....

The best Delay can do is five years probation...
