What stops checks to the congress critters? |
|
Who decides which bills to pay? Why not shut down the congressional offices. Make them pay for their folly. I remember some f*ck saying he couldn't live on $175K...how about NOTHING you scum?
But seriously, who does decide and how can we influence them not to give out checks to congress after July 31, since they are the cause? We're only a couple of days away from the 31st.

Congress may be the ones appropriating the money, but the US Treasury falls under the Executive Branch last I heard.

4. SSI will post on July 31 midnight and maybe even tonight since it |
|
is a weekend. That is good news for the poorest of Social Security people and many disabled. The August 3 Social Security checks may be late even if they come.

7. Will the checks be cleared by the banks though? |
|
I hope they don't bounce or get rejected. Or held for a while.
That would make the US look really bad too, if its checks start bouncing, that might bring on a worse credit rating downgrade.

Their paycheck isn't where they're getting the bulk of their money.
