Throughout the last week, on several threads, whenever someone repeated the dem leadership position that there would be no dem votes on Boehner's bill, I scoffed. I posited that the usual 5 suspects would vote for it. They didn't. There were 5 NVs but that's good enough for me. The Cons can't claim the dreaded bi-partisanship lie. Hats off to Pelosi and her team.

2. I was gratifyingly surprised as well |

I thought for sure one of the Blue Dogs would provide Boehner with a vote so he could crow about a bipartisan bill. However, I am unaware at this point whether any of the media chuckleheads have weighed in with the fact that this bill is going absolutely nowhere. Also missing from the reports will be any reference to the Republican pledge last year that they would post the text of every at least 72 hours before a scheduled vote. If any of the multi-millionaires on our teevee remember it at all, they will surely explain to us all how "unique" and "different" this bill is.

...even I wouldn't fuck with Nancy. I would not want her pissed off at me.
Never, ever forget the look she shot at Wilson after the "you lie" incident. Thought she was gonna run over, grab him by the ear and drag him to the shed.
Oh..and...thanks, Dems!!!

6. None of the five NVs voted for Cut Cap and Balance |
|
Edited on Fri Jul-29-11 06:24 PM by onenote
The five NVs were Giffords and Hinchey, who are unavailable to vote because of medical reasons. The other three were Baca, Speier, and Waters, all of whom voted against Cut Cap and Balance.

something. This must be a first. Too bad they wouldn't do it when they had control of the House and on some truly important issues where far too many of them voted so often with Republicans.
