Yesterday CNN had the headline:
"Police 'actively pursuing' second person in Tucson shooting"
and elaborated:


"Dupnik said investigators are not convinced that the suspect came to the supermarket alone. He said investigators were looking for a man seen near the suspect.
Authorities did not know whether the person they sought actually had any connection with Loughner, a law enforcement source told CNN.
Authorities have a piece of evidence that indicates this second individual was in close proximity to the store, the source said, but declined to elaborate."

Does anyody has follow-up news on this or is it known if that was simply a mistake?

it was a taxi driver not connected to the shooter

he drove the shooter to the parking lot.

1. He was a cab driver. He's been eliminated as a suspect.

He's no longer a person of interest.

who went into the store with the shooter because the shooter needed change to pay him.

5. as of this morning...

the man who was a 'person of interest' and seen on video turned out to be the cabbie who brought Loughner to the site and has been cleared. I've not heard of any others.

As stated above the guy in the blue jacket was cleared of any involvement. FBI/Sheriff/etc are open to if something turns up but right now there is nothing pointing to an accomplice or co-conspirator.
