An interesting omission from Sarah.
From Palin's Facebook page:

"My sincere condolences are offered to the family of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the other victims of today’s tragic shooting in Arizona. On behalf of Todd and my family, we all pray for the victims and their families, and for peace and justice."

No mention of regret concerning what happened to Gabby herself. Just her family and "the other victims."

1. Obviously Gabrielle was not a victim
from Sarah's point of view.

2. Although I think it may be implied, there is no way she will mention Gabby's name, as it will bring
attention to the cross-hairs and other violent imagery. And she knows it.

3. In fairness, she posted this after CNN & others reported her dead.
NPR, CNN, and several media outlets erroneously reported that Rep. Giffords had died early on Saturday.

4. To be fair, at the time it was being reported that Giffords was dead.
Palin simply hasn't updated her message.

5. For about 20 min. Saturday media outlets (such as Fox) reported Giffords had died
Palin's response was the first one I saw run across the bottom of the screen on Fox news, right after they had reported (erroneously) that Gifford died. Pisses me off the way she is able to dominate or manipulate the media.

9. Won't pile on for that, the media said that Giffords was dead
Which is an entirely other conversation we should have.

11. Many have noted that this was probably posted
when Gabby was reported to have been killed. I still find it strange that she herself was not mentioned. You know, something like, "I just heard that Gabrielle Giffords was struck down by an assassin's bullet today. My sincere condolences…"

And they have had plenty of time to fix it.
