The Party of Personal Responsibility Strikes Again.
Edited on Mon Jan-10-11 04:32 PM by walldude
I have heard at least 4 liberal commentators start their shows today with... AN APOLOGY. Yes liberal talk show hosts are apologizing if they ever did anything to add to the heated violent rhetoric that contributed to bringing this country to the point where violence is seen as a solution to political disagreements.

On the Republican side, the party of personal responsibility, the Patriots, the God Fearing Gun toting Americans, on their side, it's all the fault of those.. those.. those goddamn liberal commies who are taking our guns away. Who are trying to kill grandma with their new medical bill. Who are allowing a Muslim fanatic President who wasn't even born in the US to build re-education camps to lock up the true Americans. Who are going to give Texas and Arizona back to the Mexicans.

Yeah it's their fucking fault.

1. Like kids in an alcoholic family whose parents are passed out on the livingroom floor
still asking themselves if there is a problem and if it's their fault. Completely dysfunctional.

2. Harry Whittington, anybody?
http://www.americanchronicle.com/articles/view/6047

Harry Whittington, the 78-year old Texas lawyer, who was peppered with birdshot by "Dead-Eye" Dick Cheney, apologized for the stress the accident had caused the vice president over the past few days.

"My family and I are deeply sorry for all that Vice President Cheney and his family have had to go through this past week," Whittington told reporters outside Christus Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. "We send our love and respect to them as they deal with situations that are much more serious than what we have had this week."

"We hope that he (Dick Cheney) will continue to come to Texas and seek the relaxation that he deserves."

Only three days after suffering a heart attack caused by a birdshot pellet lodged near his heart, Whittington was discharged from the hospital and appeared to be in good health.

5. Only that story turned out to be bullshit..
After that press conference Whittington was admitted to intensive care with a collapsed lung, stayed there for a week. Cheney never apologized to the guy even after his staff sent out a press release saying that Whittington "blundered into Cheney's line of fire".

6. The story says Whittington apologized, not Cheney
and it was widely reported. This is the first I've heard anyone claim it's bullshit.

11. walldude is completely Hannitying to you. That's a full-blown Hannity right there.
Not only did the event happen as reported, there was video on all the Infoganda Networks at the time because Whittington, if I recall, gave a press conference to announce his apology to vice-president Vader.

Remember the fantastic Daily Show skit on it? Rob (the former marine, can't remember his last name) screaming, "Here's what I would have said: Hey Dick, YOU SHOT ME IN THE FACE! &^%*& YOU!" or something close to it that was hilarious.

13. Wait.. my post must have been confusing...
Edited on Mon Jan-10-11 05:34 PM by walldude
The bullshit was that Whittington wasn't seriously hurt. He was admitted to ICU for a week after that press conference And Cheney never apologized in private or in public. Sorry bout the misunderestimating.. :)

3. I sincerely believe that this will not stop. In fact may get worse. The
reasons that I say this is that it appears to be a co-ordinated effort to continue to instill fear, commit "collateral" murders or threats. Without legal intervention, without reinstatement of some laws, without prosecutions, fines and the participation of what is left of decent MSM, it will not stop.
Shall we and those in power, sit and sing "peace songs" instead of moving to action, demanding our President get over his "aversion to conflict" and put a stop to this extreme Right Wing crap.

7. I agree...
why would the right-wing hate machine stop when they've spent years and billions of dollars to create the atmosphere we have now?

They WANT a war on the left and they are not going to stop until they get it.

9. Yup and the mantra is
It's not a problem that we are doing this, it's a problem that you are complaining about it.
