It's been so damned hot for so long I have almost forgot what it was like to wear clothes not soaked in sweat. But, that's not what's chapping my ass. It's our POS governor, Prick Perry.
One dollar of our electric bills here in Texas go to a fund to help the less fortunate pay their electricity bills. The problem is, they're not spending the money for that. In fact, other than the $28 million of it they used to "balance the budget", the rest is sitting unused....$603 million dollars! And here, we have had 33 consecutive days of 100+ temps and 40 overall this year. One of the hottest on record here, and they're not using the money we donated for the purpose we donated. Isn't that some kind of fraud?
Well, I caught this bit if info on the evening news, so I hope someone is wringing tits and twisting balls to get this money distributed for it's intended purpose. Despite the fact there are people dying, a lot of folks could use the help keeping a little cooler.

3. Wouldn't that be illegal? To take money for one purpose as a tax and them |
|
not appropriate the funds properly? Shouldn't someone be going to jail for stealing tax money and not spending it in the purpose for collecting that tax? Seriously, this should have people in govt doing a perp walk... And if they are doing this with this simple little tax, what else are they misappropriating?

8. Sort of like our Social Security Funds, wouldn't you say? |
|
Social Security is actually in Huge Surplus but all the money has been taken and spent on War and other terrific things to kill people with.Gore was laughed off the stage when he anted to put Social Security Funds into a "Lock Box" so no one could get off with it..It appears to be the way politicians operate. They find a stash of money and just take it for their own agendas.

5. Another record setting day in Houston..... |
|
107 by my gauge. Now combine it with our tropical humidity and you can be sure Perry will get an extra warm welcome at the prayer quest crapfest this weekend. They will have to bus folks in because this is a blue city complete with a lesbian mayor, but then I have my doubts about Perry too.
Oh, and he lied about the budget prior to the election, and the Harris county voting machines were burned in a warehouse fire before the election, and the budget cuts really hurt our school district. He may fool some mouth breathing, knuckle dragging, inbreed micro heads in Northern Texas but he will have a hard time selling crazy here.

6. How is it legal to levy a fee for one cause, use millions for another |
|
and refuse to release hundreds of millions for the stated purpose?
Did you all vote this $1 fee in for general use with a suggested purpose on a state ballot?

7. I wasn't even aware of the $1 donation, so... |
|
...I don't know how it came about, or when. It looks like they're treating the money as it is in the general fund and they can use it as they see fit. Their idea of what's fit and mine are miles apart. That money should do what it was meant for, and now!
