A struggling baseball player who has had a forgettable year, meets with a kid who has struggled all his life. While hanging out by the batting cage, the father who has witnessed his son fight for his life, not just a hit, asks the player if he can send one out for his biggest fan.

The player, who has just five home runs on the year, laughs and says "how about I just try and not lose the game for the team?" And then the ballplayer goes out and hits not one, not two, but three bombs against the team's biggest rival.
