MInnesota: The 2011 Hiroshima/Nagasaki Commemoration Events

he 2011 Hiroshima/Nagasaki Commemoration Events

Join others in the community to encourage reflection on the past and hope for the future through action in the present. All are welcome.

Friday, August 5, 5:30 p.m. Lyndale Park Peace Garden, 4124 Roseway Road (just north of Lake Harriet), Minneapolis. Music by Arden Concort followed by a commemorative tea ceremony by Yukimakai Tea Study Group.

Saturday, August 6, 7:30 a.m. Lyndale Park Peace Garden, 4124 Roseway Road (just north of Lake Harriet), Minneapolis. Ceremony of the Cranes and the story “Sadako and 1,000 Cranes.” A moment of silence will be followed by an all day vigil and the Ceremony of 11 Bells.

Monday, August 8, 7:00 p.m. Como Park, Global Harmony Labyrinth (off Nason Place near the south end of the pedestrian bridge), St. Paul. Nagasaki Commemoration.
