Required Photo ID to vote. |
|
This can be overcome in a very simple manner. It is a duh-huh. A very obvious way to shut this down is to MANDATE THAT ALL VOTER'S REGISTRATION CARDS HAVE A PHOTO!!!
Would it be expensive...yes. But not as expensive as these electronic voting machines have been.
Why hasn't a Dem or Liberal Pundit come up w/this as a solution? Seems obvious to me.

1. Does an absentee ballot by mail require a photo ID? If not, there's an alternative. nt |

2. How easy would it be to loose a bunch of absentee ballots? |
|
Haven't there been incidences of this happening.....usually conveniently to the benefit of Repubs?

6. I set them loose all the time. But they're tough to catch. |
|
Losing them is easy, however.
Don't make freeper spelling mistakes.

Find a place that's 420 friendly and go that way if you can.

13. The OP said "required photo ID to vote", and I listed an alternative. One |
|
can find drawbacks (negatives) to any alternative with only minimal effort.
Can't one.

3. So to register you need to go to a government office and have a picture taken? |
|
Might this not make it harder to register?
I think it would make more sense to legislate that state photo IDs be free so that if you need one to vote you can go and get one. You can register there also if you need to, but for people who already have an ID I don't see why they should be required to go have another picture taken.

But this would still require one to go to a govt. office. Point is, this could easily be dealt with. Why is it continuing to be a "problem" in the media & Dems not dismiss it w/one of these simple solutions?
Beginning to wonder who my friends are.

8. I agree but I was working on the premise that one must obtain a photo ID |
|
and presumably this must be done at a government office

5. I suspect that you haven't given this idea enough thought. |
|
Mull it over some more. You wouldn't want people to think that voting should be more difficult and more expensive, right?

9. Just saying that this "problem" that the repukes are trying to create |
|
could easily be countered & taken off their distraction/limit list.
It wouldn't be that expensive. Motown Johnny's idea of being able to get a photo id, if you need one, works, too.
I just don't understand why we can't deal w/this crap they keep throwing out there. You'd think Dems have NO power.

11. I don't have a "voter registration card." We don't do them where I live. |
|
You just give your address, and then your name. They check you off the list, and give you a ballot.
After you vote, you give your address, and then your name, and they check you off another list, and you put your ballot in the OCR scanner.
That's that.
Why not just let the license double as a voter card, for those who live in states that require them? And for those who don't drive, give them a (free) ABC (alcoholic beverages commission) card, just like a license, that will also do double duty.
We're going down a road to a national ID, like it or not. Virtually every state communicates with others about motor vehicle violations already and most of them use the same security features.

14. I didn't realize that not all states have voter registration cards. |
|
Mine does & haven't live outside my state. If you don't drive, then states could issue a photo voter id. This should not be such a big deal is my point. Distraction from REAL & IMPORTANT issues. :eyes:
