The repubs said raising their taxes hurts the economy and jobs aren't created.

What more does one need to prove that the repukes' notion of economic success is nothing short of poison?

1. I don't understand why Dems, from Obama on down, aren't screaming that from the rooftops
Wait, on second thought, I do understand.

They are every bit as beholden to fatcats as Repugs are.

2. One of the corporate dumpsters said today
that the corporations are sitting on trillions of dollars and won't invest in the US because of regulation and taxes.

They are taking OUR money and hoarding it and holding our country hostage until we deregulate and give them MORE money.

3. The corporations want free reign...
...to poison the water, air, and earth...because when this country is nothing more then a wasteland, they'll take their money and leave!

Unless the peasants rise up and do to them what the Italians did to Mussolini...it's Pinata time!

4. For all that was wrong with it
Reagan's tax cuts had one big fat thing that the Bush-Obama tax cuts do not: targeted jobs tax credit.

Instead of just willy-nilly handing out a 2% cut in payroll taxes to everybody, especially those who are well-off, why not relieve an employer of payroll taxes for as long as a worker has been unemployed? Hire somebody who's been out of work for two years, get a two year tax holiday on the employer share of FICA.

Chances are, it would cost the same in lost revenue, and if it cost more, then it would generate many more jobs.

6. I think I know where the jobs are! Or at least where the GOP/teabaggers think the jobs are:
Between my legs.

Seriously.

OBVIOUSLY, gotta be, considering where their attention went as soon as they rode their "WHERE ARE THE JOBS? JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!" battering ram into Capitol Hill, this past January.

They turned their attention toward anti-choice activities, so I'm simply left to guess that they think jobs are located up between my legs. All those magic new jobs are up there somewhere when I'm laid back for a pelvic exam in my gyno's office. Yeah! That MUST be it! That's where they've been paying so much attention - at least until they suddenly got religion about debt and the deficits that dick cheney regularly assured them don't matter. All that anti-choice activity - the search for all those jobs in GYN and OBGYN and (what's left of) Planned Parenthood offices and examination rooms! Yeah, that's the ticket!

Lots of nosing around up in them thar female nether regions where they have no business going. But no jobs yet.

Maybe it's like the kid who comes down on Christmas morning to find his Christmas tree surrounded by piles of horse shit. And the kid immediately dives in and starts digging around. He'd asked for a pony, after all. And look at all the horse shit. "There MUST be a pony in there somewhere!" Maybe they're searching for ponies as well as jobs up there between my legs or something...

Btw - I posted that on Facebook on Leslie Marshall's page and apparently started a small shit-storm.

7. Here's (offhand) 3 very good reasons they won't come back.
1. Efficiency in productivity: During periods of downturn, companies lay off workers and force the remaining ones to become more productive. Simply, they become leaner and meaner. They no longer need those excess workers they shed.

2. Without increase in demand, there is no need for an increase in production. So why hire more just because you have more money? Stick it in the bank or buy some nice artwork.

3. China can make that shit for 1/10th of the price. Hell no, we ain't hiring no Americans.

10. "The jobs" are gone-baby-gone
and the jobs that are left behind are rapidly being devalued. It HAS to be that way. How else can the corporate bigwigs keep raking in bazillions of dollars, relatively tax-free?

You just have to know where to look.

Okay, I'll tell you where. First you'll need a banana and a 5-pound sack of sugar.

Go in your back yard (or local park) at about 3 in the morning. Put the banana in a nice open area and sprinkle some sugar on it, then leave a trail across the grass to a hiding area not too far away. That's where you'll be, waiting with a rope fashioned from the woven hairs of a redheaded virginal woman. It should be a couple of yards long.

Anyway, at some point before dawn, a unicorn will appear and eat the banana, then follow the trail of sugar with its tongue. When it gets close to you, give a single cough. This will make the unicorn freeze long enough for you to sling the rope around it's neck and pull yourself onto it's back.

(Unicorns reproduce asexually... did you know that? It's a hell of a thing to watch them divide into two smaller unicorns.)

Anyway, once you jump on its back, it will run and become airborne, and in short order you will be taken to a magical land.

A land of picturesque high-security prisons, neighborhoods full of non-white people, nuclear power plants, asphalt plants, airport departure lanes, toxic waste dumps, wind turbines, coal power plants, freight-train crossings, middle-class prosperity, and mosques.

No no no, it's not where you're thinking. It's the Magical Land of Someplace Else. And THERE is where you'll find the jobs from unregulated capitalism. Right next to the methadone drug-rehab centers and the abortion clinics.

Millions of jobs! Jobs that are extra-bright and extra-shiny, because they're extra-imaginary!

14. Why doesn't the "liberal media" ever ask that question?
"liberal media"....aaaahahahahahahahahahaha!

Dear conservative buttplugs,

Why did the Bush tax cuts result in a net loss of American jobs? Extra credit: How will further tax cuts produce a different result?
