"So the last will be first, and the first will be last."
So, yeah. Watching Capitalism: A Love Story - it's on the part where the ministers talk about capitalism as a moral evil. This passage just jumped out at me.

I'm a Christian, and while I know many of you don't care much for religion(that's your right and I respect it) I still think this verse has meaning:

Our society today has it ingrained in our heads that to be "morally right" we must be selfish, cruel and petty to all. To put vengeance above forgiveness.

Well, if there is a God - when the rich, the petty, the vengeful and the cruel go before Him or Her - they'll have a hard time explaining their actions. This doesn't even have to apply to the afterlife; karma will get these people sometime. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow - but someday.

I dunno. I'm in an oddly revolutionary mood tonight. I feel bad for once being a moderate. ^_^ Forgive me, DU?

1. Even if they don't 'go before "him"', I would like to hear them explain.
How can they possibly justify, by any stretch of ethics or morality, destroying the countries economy to sustain their riches?

Oh. I forgot.

GREED

2. Well, it's the conservanazis and their religious allies that push greed.
They only follow the biblical teachings that justify their actions and beliefs.

Personally, I know some real Christians. For the most part, the rest of them I have no use for. I live in the Deep South bible belt where the pulpit pimps push their religious version of conservanazi propaganda on the radio.

They blame the poor, infirmed, elderly and all others for their predicament.

It's part of the "prosperity" churches doctrines. Give more to me and my church and you shall become rich, spiritually, financially and just plain greedy. Then, you shall be saved. That is: give me and my church more money. If you are too poor to give, then you deserve your fate. Poverty. YOYO: the conservanazi idea of "after the womb, you come out and YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN". Praise the Lord and pass the loot.

These folks don't think they are doing bad. They are following the directions of their preacher. Tune into some of them on TV or radio. They preach the "prosperity doctrine". I just seen Kenneth Copeland and his old lady pushing that same idea and very blantant about it.

Find out what it means and see what the teachings and ACTIONS of your church are doing in that direction.

I work on Habitat for Humanity homes. Most of my co-workers are christian. Some are real Christians. They don't push the conservanazi propaganda. I'm probably a Diest. So, I just take it all in, sort out what I want to believe and know this: I'm trying to help poor families to get a house. I have no other gratification than trying to help others.

The selfish and greedy, whether they are Christian, Jewish, Muslim or whatever, will not help others for the sake of help them. Their motive is for greed or selfishness, however you want to describe it.

3. The sad thing is is that
Jesus and Christianity have been hijacked by the rich and the religious right to be the almost reverse of what He really was.

It gives all Christians a bad name to see preachers demanding the execution of gays, or the destruction of other religions...

I just want people to know that not all Christians are like the intolerant hateful bigots that we see everywhere.

4. Here is a quote someone posted by Steven Colbert.
See if it fits.

‎"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn’t help the poor...either we’ve got to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are...or we’ve got to acknowledge that he commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition — and then admit that we just don’t want to do it." -Steven Colbert

Not all Christians are as greedy, selfish and hateful. Just the ones that get the microphone and act as if they are the spokesperson for ALL Christians.

5. They preach hatred of others. Gays, religions, foreigners
Conservanazi christians want others to live by their "commandments". When I run into some of these kinds of folks, I always ask them how many of the commandments do they abide by or obey. All ten? How about bearing false witness? Passing on lies about other people is lying, or rumors, or innuendos? Well, we're down to nine now. Then I asked, have they ever stole anything? Anything at all? Or how about loving one's neighbor as you love thyself? How come you hate gays or call for them to change? If your god is perfect and all people are perfect, why do we have gays? It's not learned behaviour.

So, I usually call them 7 or 8 commandment christians.

The "born again" kind are the worse I've ever met. Now, here's how it works. I can be an a**hole all day to my co-workers, family, friends. I can lie, cheat and steal. I can be a drunkard, yet when I get back to church on Sunday, I can say I'm "born again" and profess that Jesus Christ is my saviour and all is forgiven so I can go back to being the a**hole I was before I walked into church. Makes sense to me.

Tell me your "born again" and I trust you as much as I would trust a conservanazi.

If a person believes, that fine by me. Abide by the rules. Don't push them on others. Live and let others live. I love some of the teachings of Gandhi. When I read some of his writings and quotes, I got a new idea what his religous views were. Give it a read sometimes.

BTW, I lived and worked in the US Army in Korea, Taiwan, Vietam, Thailand and Japan. Trying to understand other societies gave me a different perspective on other societies and religions in this world.

6. I hate the religious right as much as anyone.
Well, not hate - but pity. As they try to altar the word of God to fit their own twisted versions of the world. I am always against people like that.

7. That's the main reason I don' t do churches. Too many hypocrites.
They don't like that excuse for not going either.

I believe. That's enough for me.
