We have to stop ENABLING Obama. Let's end the co-dependency.
A common theme of enabling is that third parties make accommodations for a person's harmful conduct (often with the best of intentions, or from fear or insecurity which inhibits action). The practical effect is that the person themselves does not have to do so, and is shielded from awareness of the harm it may do, and the need or pressure to change.

'Co-dependents are care-takers - rescuers. They rescue, then they persecute, then they end up victimized'.

It was a beautiful dream. It's time to wake up and smell the coffee.

4. Some of us stopped enabling
in late November 2008.

10. Agreed
Criticism from the left is the same as criticism from the right.

14. If Obama wasn't doing his best impersonation of a Cirque Du Soleil gymnast
to give the RW everything they want and more before he even starts negotiating, he wouldn't get so much of the blame.

Instead he brings them into the room and keeps Pelosi and Reid out while he negotiates behind their backs. He deserves every bit of scorn and then some from the base he loathes so much.

16. You really should stop enabling the Professional Left voices whispering in your ear.
Hamsher and Greenwald aren't doing you any favors lying to you that the President hates you and is trying to destroy everything the Democratic party stands for. They have agendas of their own.

19. You should really start questioning the worth of those paychecks you're getting
from Obama's camp for being a Professional apologist. It really is amazing to have the freedom of your own thoughts and to be able to stand for principles, rather than be beholden to a single man owned by the monied interests in this country. To have to defend him no matter what he does, to lie for him and pretend he isn't going after the very Democratic ideals that built the party, to spin for him in the most unspinnable of situations that must be a difficult task... and one hell of a burden to the conscience, if you have one.

15. Obama himself told us to "hold his feet to the fire"
leading one to believe he would listen to the critisms and pleas of the people who supported him and put him into office. The repugs sure the hell won't listen to any liberal complaints. "Very interesting, indeed" that you would even think they would. :eyes:

18. "President Obama to Frustrated Liberals: 'Wake Up! This Is Not Some Academic Exercise!'"
Edited on Fri Aug-05-11 10:32 AM by ClarkUSA
He criticized Democrats who complain that “the health care plan didn’t have a public option,” or say to him, “'You ended the war in Iraq but haven’t completely finished the Afghan war yet.'”

His message to them: “Folks wake up! This is not some academic exercise. As Joe Biden put it, Don’t compare us to the Almighty, compare us to the alternative.”

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2010/09/president-obama-to-frustrated-liberals-wake-up-this-is-not-some-academic-exercise.html

Joe Biden also aptly described those who constantly attack this Presidency without recognizing any of its many achievements as "whiners".

Note: I am NOT speaking of you, Raine.

20. Exactly why they are not getting our votes next year. You don't tell people they are whiners
and expect them to work, donate or vote for you. This, "Tell the base to fuck off repeatedly" strategy proves Obama should just do us all a favor and get out now (or switch parties).

17. IRV please
If only we had instant-runoff voting, we could vote for a third party candidate. Instead, we're pretty much consigned to tactical voting hell.
