Lawrence O’Donnell & Staff Give Gov. Chris Christie a STANDING APPLAUSE For Defending Muslim Judge

:applause: :applause: :applause:

This is a must see! I applaud Chris Christie.

" MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell gave Republican Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey a standing ovation on Thursday night for his impassioned defense of a Muslim judge.

“....Sharia law has nothing to do with this at all,” the governor said. “It’s crazy. It’s crazy. The guy’s an American citizen who has been an admitted lawyer to practice in the state of New Jersey, swearing an oath to uphold the laws of New Jersey, the constitution of the state of New Jersey, and the Constitution of the United States of America and has never been accused of doing anything but honorably and zealously upholding the oath he took when he became a lawyer.”

“This sharia law business is crap,” Christie continued. “It’s just crazy. And I’m tired of dealing with the crazies. It’s just unnecessary to be accusing this guy of things just because of his religious background.”:wow:

1. Good on Chris Christie.
Here's hoping others in his party will follow his lead!

2. Why do we have to act so grateful when repugs behave properly.
I have great deal of respect for O'Donnell, and it was a pleasant surprise that Christie spoke up. However, he only did what any decent democratic politician would do, condemn bigotry. Have we come so disgusted with the republicans that when they do something right, they get a standing ovation.

11. Exactly my point! Christie is an arrogant, slimy POS but his actions on this occassion should be
welcomed and applauded for having the courage to step up and into the fire by calling out bigot haters such as Limbaugh, Hannity and his own Republican party knowing full well his position will generate blow-back.

4. I can remember when Republicans would never have tolerated
this craziness going on. They would cut people off
and explain "the truth" The last 15 years the cultural
change in Republican Pary.

I know it sounds elitist and I am not elitist. I wish
more of our leaders would just stand up and correct
people when they go

When Obama does something good and right, which is often,
it is ignored and the goalpost is moved.

When a Republican asshole does something good and right just one time
after many dirty deeds, he gets a fucking standing ovation.

They call that a double standard.....and I ain't gonna participate.

12. I think the difference, Frenchie,
is that President Obama is a Democrat (even if some won't recognize that fact) and is regularly expected to, and does speak out against this kind of bigoted behavior. In today's Republican party it is extremely rare, and so it gets the attention.

I will never expect Faux News to recognize the many good things our president does because - well - because they are Faux News. Lawrence O'Donnell is WAY above that and is not so petty as to ignore when a member of the other party does something worthy of recognition. I guess I just think that is what puts "us" so far above "them".

Just my opinion! :hi:

10. Good for him
Originally being from NJ, I was sad when the state elected him. But this one thing makes me despise him a little less. I'm sure later in the day, he'll do something else to make me dislike him, though.
