Who would have ever thought that Mitch and his boys would ever try to manipulate
the Super Congress? They are such patriots and honorable men.:sarcasm:

3. Reading the whole story, it seems they only woke up to realize they are getting played again.

The 'thugs stack the committee with T(errorist)-baggers while we were all ready to appoint the mushy centrists (you know, the "adults" in the last discussion).

I guess perhaps they might be developing a dim awareness that this mix didn't work out well last time.

So two choices:

1) Appoint our far left hardliners and fighters (but face it that this kills any compromise chances)
2) Threaten to walk away

Best chance IMHO? Appoint Senator Al from the Great State of Minnesota. The committee has a spotlight and Al's understated way of boxing people in and making them look silly when they try to pull a logical fast one would be good for the public opinion battle.

4. Al Franken would be a great choice, however
one good committee member in 12 bodes ill for a positive outcome.
