runs contrary to the tea party meme yet they never get around to saying that.

The business sector and the investor class has to at some point come out and say "government is the only tool we have to recover from this recession."

Just come out and say it main stream media, "right wing ideology is killing us!"

1. That's not how they do it. They have to start another war.

The ONLY thing which will get Republicans spending like a drunken sailor with a stolen credit card is to say it's for the military / war.

In case you haven't seen the similarities, the situation we're in today is almost identical to the time of the Great Depression, when Republicans always forced any kind of stimulus down to the point of ineffectiveness (sound familiar?) and then ridiculed it for its lack of results.

Come WWII, however, and we couldn't tax, borrow and spend ENOUGH. The history books (the real ones) tell the rest of that story.

So, IMO, that's what to look out for. The government spending program Republicans never say no to: war.

Taking a page from the teabaggers hostage taking handbook and congress' leave the FAA and 70,000 workers hanging and go on vacation handbook, what do think would happen if ALL of working America, with the exception of essential services, e.g., hospitals, police and fire departments, took a 2-day vacation simultaneously?
